Open Positions

The Department of Mathematics has currently two open positions.

Position 1

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Mississippi invites applications to fill one tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning in January or August 2015. A successful applicant will be expected to teach six hours per week and is expected to conduct a vigorous research program as well as mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field, and a specialization in Algebra or Number Theory, or a closely related field, is required. A degree should be earned no later than December 15, 2014 for a January start date, and no later than August 15, 2015 for an August start date. Position 2

The successful candidate will teach six (6) hours per week and is expected to conduct a vigorous research program as well as mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field, earned no later than August 15, 2015, is required. We encourage applications from outstanding candidates in all areas of Analysis, particularly those with research expertise in Probability, Dynamical Systems, Ergodic Theory, Mathematical Physics, or a related field.
